Neuer praises "rock solid" Bayern
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer believes the team's "rock solid" defence was the reason behind Sunday's 2-0 win over Schalke.
Nils Petersen and Thomas Muller scored the goals that earned Bayern all three points which sees them strengthen their grip on top spot in the German Bundesliga.
However, Neuer believes it was the backline which earned the Bavarian outfit the win against his former club on Sunday.
"I'm delighted we won," Neuer told Bayern's official website. "Schalke came very close [to scoring] twice in the first half - they were a shade unlucky there.
"But we were good in defence today [Sunday]. We were rock solid, and that's very important."
Used to being bombarded by shots whilst at Schalke last season during the Royal Blues' disappointing 14th-placed finish, Neuer admits things have been slightly different at a club which dominate their fair share of matches.
"I certainly had more to do when I played for Schalke last season.
"I've had to adapt my game, but you get used to it."
Bayern have now picked up 15 points from their first six games, two ahead of Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach.
