Bayern: Signing Ronaldo is in realm of fantasy

FC Bayern München chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has flatly denied that the club have any interest whatsoever in signing Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is seeking a move away from Madrid after being accused of tax fraud in Spain, and seemingly because he has broken virtually every major record available for his team.

As such, the world mega-star has been linked with a number of wealthy sides including France's Paris Saint-Germain, England's Manchester United, Italy's AC Milan as well as Bayern.

However, the Bavarians have made it clear in no uncertain terms they are not interested in the Portugal superstar, despite a report suggesting otherwise in the Italian sport paper, Gazetto dello Sport.

Rummenigge told the club's official website, "We're used to being the subject of intense transfer speculation during transfer windows.

"Normally we don't comment on rumours, but in this case, we would like to make our position on Cristiano Ronaldo absolutely clear: This rumour is completely unfounded and must be consigned to the realms of fantasy."
