The Catalan leads the defending champions to Stuttgart for a rearranged fixture from the first half of the season which could not be played as Bayern were busy winning the Club World Cup.
Another win for Bayern would give them a 13-point advantage at the top of the table, but as much as Guardiola refused that the title would be decided as a result, he also blamed his rivals for not making more of a fight of it.
"We don't have any influence over the other results," Guardiola said at a press conference. "We still need lots more points and we have many tough games to come, but we're in a good position and every game is a good test for us.
"January is too early to talk about how we will celebrate winning the title, you can't ask me that now.
"No team wins the league in January. Not even in March. Okay then, ask me about it again in March."
Guardiola was asked several times about whether Mario Mandzukic, who was left out of the squad for the trip to Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend, would be back in the final 18 on Wednesday.
In the end, the Bayern coach admitted the issue was getting on his nerves.
"You know my decision," he said. "Sometimes I need these players, sometimes I need other players. I have decisions to make.
"Sometimes the decision depends on the quality of the players, sometimes on the opponents. I have no doubt about Mario - he's a super, super player, but it can happen that two super, super players don't get into the squad."
That can only mean that Stuttgart have to find a way of stopping a super, super team with super, super players and captain Christian Gentner is hoping his side can put in a good performance for their supporters.
The Swabians suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Mainz on Saturday, but Gentner is confident ahead of the Bayern clash and he told his club's official website: "This game is an opportunity for us.
"We want to win our fans back with a good performance because we didn't do what we wanted to against Mainz.
"Of course we want to do better this time."
Stuttgart are bidding to become the first Bundesliga side to beat Bayern in 43 attempts.
