Hamburg insist pressure is all on Bayern

Hamburg president Carl Jarchow says his side "can only win" when they travel to face Bayern Munich at the weekend.

The northern Germany side were thrashed 9-2 at the Allianz Arena last season, which is why the 58-year-old believes things can only get better, and that the pressure is therefore not on his side despite their worrying league position.

"Nobody expects anything from us," he told the Bild newspaper. "Fundamentally, we can only win."

However, after a defeat to Augsburg last weekend, Jarchow will not tolerate another abject performance, even in view of the stature of their opponents.

"I am expecting us to present ourselves differently," he said. "We've got to hold our own and emerge from the game well.

"If you forget about the 9-2 from last season, then Saturday's game is our easiest of the season."

The club's director of sport Oliver Kreuzer does not believe it will be so easy, on the other hand.

"We should put in a request with the German Football League to be able to play with 13 players or two goalkeepers," he said after the 1-0 loss to Augsburg which left Hamburg in 13th position.

"With a performance like this, we're going to concede 12 against Bayern."
