Ribery may feature for Werder Bremen clash

Werder Bremen will not have to deal with Arjen Robben, who is out for six weeks due to injury, but Franck Ribery is back in full training and could make his return.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is therefore likely to make changes to his side once again, although one thing he would not even think of altering is their winning mentality, something the Bavarians showed once again in the midweek DFB-Pokal win over Augsburg.

"I've started to realise why Bayern have been so successful over the past few years," said Guardiola after the Augsburg victory. "They have an incredible will to win."

Xherdan Shaqiri is also back in full training, but Philipp Lahm is still ruled out with a thigh strain.

Having been ruled out for the rest of 2013, Werder Bremen goalkeeper Sebastian Mielitz says he will "come back stronger than ever before."

Mielitz was dropped by Robin Dutt after recent criticism of his performances, and the Bremen coach says he will not be considered again until the start of the second half of the season.

Although the decision came as a huge disappointment, Mielitz said he will learn from it and not let it ruin his career.

"Of course I wasn't over the moon," he said to Werder TV. "I'm a sportsman and I would like to give it all I can for the team and the club all the time.

"But I accept the decision and will work hard and give all I can to play again soon. I will come back stronger than ever before."

Bremen will need a strong goalkeeper when they look to become the first team to beat Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga since October 2012.

Bayern have now gone a league record 39 games unbeaten and Mielitz's replacement Raphael Wolf, who used to play for their city rivals 1860 Munich, cannot wait to face them.

"I'm preparing for it like I would any other game, but I cannot hide the fact I am particularly excited about it," he said on his club's website.

"I just hope the fans will support me well. I'm looking forward to this game."
