Arnold was decisive for the third game running as Dieter Hecking's men beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1, but the 19-year-old insisted it was an excellent team performance.
"I think I'm not the matchwinner - the team is," he said.
"We played a great game today and we've also got to thank Diego Benaglio for keeping us in the game."
Hecking was equally complimentary of the collective, who compensated for the injury-enforced substitution of midfield playmaker Diego and still managed to win.
"It was a great performance from the team," he told Sky television. "We lost our most important player, Diego, after half an hour, but the team still won and that is most important.
"It was good to see that the team could win a difficult away game in Frankfurt without Diego."
For his counterpart Armin Veh, the alarm bells are starting to ring after a defeat which leaves the Eagles just two points above the bottom three.
"We're where we didn't want to be," he said. "Defeats don't make it any better.
"As simple as it sounds, we've got to start picking up results."
