Bayer 04 Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario says he is delighted to get his first goal for the club, and is excited about his combination with Kevin Volland and Leon Bailey.
Bayer beat Hamburg 3-0 on Sunday with Alario registering one goal and one assist while Volland helped himself to a brace. Meanwhile, Bailey provided each of them with an assist.
It was the Argentine’s full competitive debut for Die Werkself since his move from River Plate was officially confirmed as being above board by FIFA.

As such, Alario expressed his happiness with the outcome of his maiden game in European football, and added that he was looking forward to the prospect of developing an even better understanding with Volland and Bailey.
“I’m thrilled to have won my first game. It was a really important victory for the team after a difficult time for me. I’ve been training every day but wasn’t allowed to play,” the 24-year-old told reporters.
“My strike partners Bailey and Volland are really good players. You could see how well we understand each other out there on the pitch.”
