The game at the Jalan Besar Stadium, which will be the first competitive match Stange will take charge of since being handed the reins back in May, is looming as an important one for the Lions if they want to keep alive their hopes of making the trip to Australia at the start of 2015.
Although only one qualifier has been played in Group A, Singapore were handed an emphatic 4-0 defeat by Jordan and face tough back-to-back encounters against Syria in October and November.
And having had friendlies against Myanmar and Laos, which both ended in wins to Singapore, to familiarise himself with his new charges, Stange unveiled the 23 players that will take on Oman in a statement released by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) on Tuesday.
Ten members of the squad come from reigning Malaysia Super League champions LIONSXII, including captain Shahril Ishak, midfielders Isa Halim and Hariss Harun, centre-backs Baihakki Khaizan and Safuwan Baharudin, and goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud.
Up-and-coming youngsters Shahfiq Ghani, Faritz Hameed, Hafiz Abu Sujad and Gabriel Quak, who all took turns to shine throughout the course of the campaign, have all been handed a chance to impress as well.
"It was not easy to finalise the squad but I am very pleased we have put together the team now," Stange said.
"I am confident that these players have the capabilities to help the team achieve a good result against Oman. It is a well-balanced squad comprising experienced internationals and promising youngsters, including ten players from the triumphant LIONSXII team which won the Malaysia Super League title early this month."
"They [the players called up who are plying their trade in the Great Eastern-YEO's S.League] have had a fantastic season for their respective clubs in the S.League, RHB Singapore Cup and [Starhub] League Cup campaigns, and they bring with them qualities which are very beneficial to the squad, as well as to the players themselves for their future."
The biggest names called up that currently play for S.League clubs include Tampines Rovers duo Khairul Amri and Shaiful Esah, Warriors FC custodian Hassan Sunny, veteran Home United pair Indra Sahdan Daud and Noh Rahman, and Balestier Khalsa forward Qiu Li.
Hougang United's Fadhil Salim has also been rewarded with a call-up after a fine season in goal for the Cheetahs, while Courts Young Lions trio Afiq Yunos, Sahil Suhaimi and M. Anumanthan have been given the nod too.
17-year-old starlet Adam Swandi, who is currently with French outfit Metz, is also in the squad after winning his first cap against Myanmar on June 4.
