The match at the Cebu City Sports Complex marked the first time a Philippine club was taking part in an AFC competition and it did not take long for the United Football League champions to open the scoring; Patrick Reichelt heading home a Jeffrey Christiaens freekick after just five minutes.
Four minutes later, Carli de Murga doubled his side's advantage when he latched onto a visionary pass by Misagh Bahadoran and fired past Tshering Dendup, before it was 3-0 in the 14th minute when Ben Starosta received the ball from Marwin Angeles and evaded his marker before scoring.
Six minutes later, Bahadoran was left in acres of space on the edge of the box and fired home to all but end the contest with the hosts holding a commanding 4-0 lead after just two minutes.
After that, the Philippine giants did take their foot off the pedal slightly but they did manage to add a fifth in the 64th minute; Angeles heading home another pinpoint set-piece delivery from Christiaens to round off the scoring.
In the evening's earlier kickoff in Cebu, two-time champions Dordoi Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan were held to a 1-1 draw by Pakistani side KRL.
Dordoi edged ahead in the 23rd minute through an effort from midfielder Vadim Kharchenko, but Samar Ishaq made no mistake from 12 yards five minutes after the break after his side were awarded a penalty to force the draw.
Over in Group C, Balkan of Turkmenistan claimed top spot after beating hosts Boeung Ket Rubber Field 2-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.
Balkan got off to a dream start in the 8th minute when Mammedaly Garadanow netted, before Rahmet Sirmedow added a second five minutes from time to wrap up the three points.
The group's other game saw Sri Lanka Army fall to another heavy defeat as they were beaten 10-0 by Hilal Al Quds, just two days after losing 6-0 to Boeung Ket.
Roberto Kettlun starred for the Palestinian side with a hat-trick and Eyad Abugharqud and Fadi Lafi both grabbed braces, while Maen Obaid, Mousa Abu Jazar and Adham Abu Rwais all scored as well.
