With second-placed Global not in domestic action until May 14 due to their AFC President's Cup commitments, Tuesday's game presented Stallion with an excellent chance to extend their lead at the top of the table and pile the pressure on the defending champions.
And just four minutes in, they got off to a dream start when Rufinho Sanchez netted his 16th goal of the season to hand them the lead, before Lee Joo-young struck to double their advantage in the 39th minute.
Right before halftime, American defender Jeremy Horn scored a third and it appeared as though Stallion were cruising to victory.
However, Kaya mustered a spirited fightback after the break and pulled one back in the 74th minute through an Alex Obiang effort, before Anton Del Rosario netted to make it 3-2 just two minutes later.
Nonetheless, despite their gutsy second-half display, David Perkovic's charges were just unable to find the equaliser as Stallion held on for maximum points.
