Tebuan were originally meant to kick off their bid to qualify for the Challenge Cup on Friday with a game against group hosts Philippines, before taking on Turkmenistan and Cambodia on Sunday and next Tuesday respectively.
However, a host of publications, citing a report published in the Brunei Times on Wednesday, have revealed Brunei are pulling out "due to unavoidable circumstances".
The AFC are yet to issue a statement confirming their withdrawal, although it seems extremely unlikely they will compete given the team are said to still be in Brunei.
