Elkeson shines in Evergrande success

Brazilian Elkeson took his tally to five goals in two Super League matches for Guangzhou Evergrande as his hat-trick delivered a 3-0 win over Jiangsu Shuntian.

The former Botafogo attacking midfielder scored twice on the opening day of the season and went one better, scoring after 13, 32 and 64 minutes of a handsome home win today.

Former Tottenham and Sevilla striker Fredi Kanoute settled the outcome with a 74th-minute effort as Beijing Guoan also made it two wins from two, posting a 1-0 victory at Wuhan Zall.

Two other teams also have a pair of wins from their opening two games.

Lu Zheng set Shandong Luneng on course for a 2-0 win over Changchun Yatai with a seventh-minute opener, supplemented five minutes later by a goal from Romanian Marius Niculae.

Qingdao Zhongneng edged Dalian Aerbin 1-0, with an 11th-minute winner from Bruno Meneghel.

Shanghai SIPG and Guizhou Renhe followed up their respective defeats on the opening weekend by sharing the points in their tussle.

They drew 1-1, with visitors Guizhou Renhe going ahead through Zvjezdan Misimovic in the 26th minute before Lu Wenjun levelled with a 52nd-minute penalty.
