Following a goalless first half at the Emperador Stadium, Global took the lead in the 50th minute through an Izzeldin Elhabbib, before Philippines international Jeffrey Christiaens made it 2-0 three minutes after the hour mark when he scored with a freekick.

Elhabbib then ended the contest in the 70th minute when he added a second before the rout was completed ten minutes from time Ange Guisso rounded off the scoring.

The result means Global have taken a maximum 15 points from their opening five games, with Stallion Sta. Lucia the only other side who are capable of matching that record, having played a game less.

Loyola Meralco Sparks, who had won their opening four matches, failed to match Global's feat as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kaya in Tuesday's evening kick-off.

In a tight encounter, it was the Sparks who drew first blood in the 62nd minute when star striker Phil Younghusband broke the deadlock with a cracking strike.

However, substitute Sean Illif, who had come on for Anton Del Rosario, struck three minutes from time to earn a share of the spoils for his side.
