Giant-killers Ceres set up PSG final

Ceres, who had already claimed the scalps of reigning United Football League (UFL) champions Global and UFL Cup winners Stallion in the earlier stages of the knockout round, continued their dream run with a 3-1 win over giants Kaya.

After Jayson Panhay had opened the scoring in the 24th minute, Yoon Byeong-jun added another four minutes before the break to give Ceres a 2-0 lead at the break, meeting a flick-on header by Danny Claxton with a sumptuous half-volley into the back of the net.

New signing Chris Greatwich pulled one back for Kaya in the 50th minute after good work from OJ Porteria to give them a glimmer of hope, but their hopes of making the final was all but extinguished ten minutes from time when Choi Gun-hee netted from the spot after Yoon had been brought down inside the area.

Standing between Ceres and a stunning National Club Championship triumph are PSG, formerly known as Pasargad, who overcame a two-goal deficit to see off Green Archers United 2-1 on penalties, after both sides had played out a 2-2 draw.

Two goals in two minutes from Emelio Caligdong and Jovanie Simpron had handed the Archers a commanding lead, but Charles Ujam pulled one back for PSG before Reza Amirkhizan netted four minutes later to make it 2-2.

With neither side able to find a third goal, the match then went to penalties, where only three of the first eight takes managed to successfully convert their efforts.

And with PSG leading 2-1 in the shootout, Ayi Nii Aryee sent Green Archers' final kick back off the post to send them out and their opponents through to the final.
