Just a week after they booked their place in the last eight with a shock win over Stallion, Ceres continued their fairy-tale run in the competition by scrapping past the star-studded Global side at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

English striker Peter Long scored the only goal of the game in the 12th minute, but Brian Reid's charges responded by launching an all-out assault on their opponent's goal.

However, Global just could not find a way past Hyoun Jae-jun, who put in an inspired display between the sticks for Ceres.

In Saturday's other quarter-final clash, Kaya continued their recent good form against fellow UFL giants Loyola Meralco Sparks after edging them 1-0.

In an evenly-contested encounter, 18-year-old midfielder OJ Portiera sent his side through to the last four after netting a second-half winner.
