The 30-year-old, who was part of the Azkals side that reached the semi-finals of the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup just last month, was reportedly considering moving to the United States after being discharged from Philippine Air Force, where he had been at since 2004.

Nonetheless, it has now been confirmed the winger will be staying in Philippines with the Archers, a move that was on the cards since last year when he signed an endorsement deal with telecommunications company Globe, who are the club's main sponsor.

"Green Archers FC and Globe Telecom have come to an agreement with Chieffy [Caligdong] for him to play with our club starting with the PFF Smart Championships later this month," club manager Monchu Garcia said, according to InterAKTV.

Before committing to Green Archers, Caligdong was said to have been contemplating migrating to Texas, where his wife had received a job offer.

The capture of the Azkals skipper will add another dimension to the Archers' already-fearsome attack, including the likes of captain Christian Pasilan, Jesus Joaquin Melliza and Arnie Pasinabo.
