Al Arabi surprise Al Rayyan with draw
Al Arabi moved off the bottom of the Qatari League table courtesy of a surprise goalless draw at second-placed Al Rayyan.
There was nothing to separate the two sides at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium but a solitary point was enough to boost Al Arabi into 11th place, with Al Sailiya slumping to the foot of the table.
Al Khor, meanwhile, opened up a five-point cushion above the relegation places as Julio Cesar settled a 1-0 victory at Al Wakra.
The Brazilian striker drove the ball home in the 75th minute to bring Al Khor's points tally up to 10 for the season so far.
Elsewhere, Al Khrityat and league leaders Al Sadd played out a stalemate that does little to boost either side's ambitions.
