Heading into the game at the Rizal Memorial Stadium off the back of Sunday's 2-0 win over Forza, which came courtesy of a Nate Burkey brace, Kaya were expected to comfortably see off their opponents.

However, they struggled to open the scoring despite creating a plethora of chances, before Jonah Romero finally broke the deadlock when he buried a shot three minutes before the break.

Last season's runners-up in the United Football League continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but were unable to add a second to kill of the tie, with substitute Eric Dagroh guilty of missing a host of chances.

Nonetheless, Diliman were unable to capitalise on their opponents' profligacy and Kaya ultimately held on to claim the outright lead in the group.

Elsewhere, Green Archers United picked up their first win of the campaign with a thumping 7-2 victory over Dolphins United.

Leading 2-0 at the break courtesy of goals from Arnie Pasinabo and captain Tating Pasilan, Green Archers continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and added goals through Ronnie Aguisanda and Jesus Melliza.

Dolphins pulled one back in the 73rd minute when Romnick Echin netted from a freekick, but the four-goal deficit was immediately restored when Nikko Villa swept home a pass from Ayi Nii Aryee.

Paolo Salenga grabbed another consolation for his side to make it 5-2, but Green Archers were in no mood to let up and capped off a wonderful day at the office with goals in the final seven minutes from Ayi and Melliza.
