Leading the way for the Lions, who fell to a shock 2-0 home defeat to Philippines in their last outing, are captain Shahril Ishak, influential midfielder Hariss Harun and evergreen striker Aleksandar Duric, who have all enjoyed fine seasons for their respective club sides.

A staggering total of 15 players from Malaysia Super League outfit LIONSXII, including Shahril and Hariss, have been named, with young wingers Yasir Hanapi and Safirul Sulaiman both handed chances to impress ahead of November's Suzuki Cup.

Home United duo Qiu Li and Shi Jiayi are both included, along with SAFFC captain Daniel Bennett and striker Fazrul Nawaz, while Duric is one of three Tampines Rovers players called up, including veteran midfielder Mustafic Fahrudin and defender Jufri Taha.

There is however no place for Stags midfielder Ahmad Latiff, who has been the one name Singapore fans have been calling for in recent weeks, following some outstanding performances that have helped his side to the top of the Great Eastern-YEO's S.League, as well as the final of the RHB Singapore Cup.
