With second-placed Chonburi not in action this week after their game against Wuachon United was postponed, the Twin Qilins made full use of their closest challengers' inactivity by picking up maximum points from what appeared to be a tricky tie.

Dagno Siaka opened the scoring for Muangthong the 25th minute, before Adnane Barakat added a second eight minutes later to give his side a commanding lead at the break.

Despite continuing to dominate the match in the second half, the visitors were unable to add to their tally and deep into injury-time, Brazilian defender Alessandro Alves pulled one back for Army to make it seem as though it was a tighter affair than it really was.

Bottom side TTM Chiangmai's woes continued as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at TOT, courtesy of Prakit Deeprom's 69th-minute winner, while Chainat and Samut Songkhram played out a 1-1 draw.

Trinidad and Tobago international Kendall Jagdeosingh fired Chainat ahead ten minutes before halftime, but Songkhram came back strongly in the second 45 and eventually earned a share of the spoils in the 52nd minute when Bireme Diouf equalised.

Finally, Esan United threw away a two-goal lead at home in a 3-3 draw with Chiangrai United.

Esan edged ahead after just three minutes when Antonio Claudio netted from the spot, but the visitors were awarded a penalty of their own 20 minutes later, which Chayene Santos successfully converted.

Nonetheless, two goals from Wuttichai Tathong either side of the break gave the hosts a comfortable lead, although Nantawat Tansopa pulled one back in the 70th minute to give Chiangrai late hope.

And a minute from time, the comeback was complete when Wasan Natasan fired home to steal an unlikely point for his side.
