Thailand come from behind to beat Laos

Thailand recovered from going a goal down to record an unconvincing 2-1 win over Laos at the Rajamangala Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The ASEAN giants ready for a huge test.

The visitors edged ahead after just eight minutes when striker Sopha Saysana fired in a long-range shot that was fumbled into the back of the net by Muangthong United custodian Kawin Thammasatchanan.

Thailand, who were missing players from Chonburi and Bangkok Glass as both sides had faced off in the Thai League Cup clash just 24 hours earlier, then came back strongly but struggled to carve open their opponents' resilient defence.

They did however look sharper after the break and duly equalised midway through the second half when Buriram United striker Suriya Domtaisong fired home from close range.

Five minutes from time, the comeback was complete when Suriya won a penalty after being hauled back by Ketsada Souksavanh inside the area, handing Buriram team-mate Teerathon Boonmathan the opportunity to step up and fire home the winner from the spot.
