The Azkals were in fine form at the Jurong West Stadium as they recorded a dominant victory over Radojko Avramovic's men, courtesy of goals from Emelio Caligdong and Philip Younghusband.
And with the AFF Suzuki Cup just two months' away, Weiss believes beating the Lions will give a huge boost to his players, especially on away soil.
"Overall, it was a satisfying performance," he said. "We dominated most parts of the match and a higher score could have been possible if we had put away our chances.
"I'm very happy to play a strong team like Singapore on home soil, which makes this a very good win.
"It will definitely help us prepare for the Suzuki Cup."
Ahead of Friday's game, Weiss had admitted his biggest concern was the fact that his players do not often get to train and play with one another, but that was hardly noticeable as the Philippines players showed a good understanding with one another.
In particular, the German tactican was impressed by midfield duo Stephan Schrock and Jerry Lucena, and expressed his belief that the future of Filipino football is looking very bright.
"We are currently in the process of building a very strong team and the important thing now is to get our key players familiar with one another," he added. "That can only come through playing together regularly.
"Schrock and Lucena were both crucial [against Singapore], especially considering they haven't played together much before. They both can retain the ball and know what to do in attack and defence. For me, Schrock had a fantastic game.
"In one to two years' time, I think we will be very strong."
The Azkals are next in action on Monday when they take on Laos.
