Shahril, who is captain of both the LIONSXII and the national side, missed the last friendly against Hong Kong due to injury but has since returned to action and has been impressive in the Malaysia Cup.

Centre-back Safuwan Baharudin and forward Khairul Amri have also been recalled, meaning there is a total of 16 players from the Malaysia Super League outfit, including vice-captain Hariss Harun, full-backs Juma'at Jantan and Shaiful Esah, and anchorman Isa Halim.

42-year-old striker Aleksandar Duric, who scored a brace in the 2-0 win over Hong Kong, leads the list of players plying their trade in the Great Eastern-YEO's S.League that have been named, which also includes Home United duo Shi Jiayi and Qiu Li, and SAFFC veteran Daniel Bennett.

Balestier Khalsa goalkeeper Joey Sim, who has been involved with the Lions setup for over a year now, will be hoping to earn his first cap, although he faces tough competition from Izwan Mahbud and Hyrulnizam Juma'at.

Singapore last played the Azkals in a friendly last October, which ended in a 2-0 win courtesy of second-half goals from Shaiful and Duric.
