Needing all three points to leapfrog Pasargad ahead of Saturday's final round of matches, Air Force went ahead three minutes after the interval through veteran striker Ian Araneta.

And while Navy equalised two minutes after the hour mark through Rolly Perez, there was to be no denying Air Force as they found a winner two minutes later courtesy of Emelio Caligdong.

In Saturday's other game, fourth-placed Stallion Penson were held to a 2-2 draw by Nomads Auction Manila.

After Steven Borrill had given Nomads a 57th-minute lead, Stallion had looked headed for victory after hitting back through goals from Antonio Albor Jr and Vince Chester Braga.

Nonetheless, Nomads ultimately stole a share of the spoils 16 minutes from time when Abdalla Ahmed Hwedi forced an equaliser.
