Ong Kim Swee's young charges got off to a good start as they took the lead after just eight minutes through Thamil Arasu, but the South Koreans hit back five minutes later courtesy of a Kim Hyun-hun strike, before goals from Pak Kwang-il and Jeong Jong-hee gave the powerhouses a commanding lead at the break.
Nonetheless, Harimau Muda came back strongly in the second half and pulled one back when Thamil grabbed his second, although it ultimately was not enough for them to salvage a share of the spoils.
