Returning veteran Aly Borromeo, who replaced the suspended Jason Sabio in the starting XI, gave Kaya the lead in the 20th minute from the spot after Jonahan Romero had been brought down in the area, before Adrian Semblat doubled their lead 11 minutes later when he fired home after good work from Lexton Moy.

Mohammad Odahi pulled one back for Pasargad six minutes after the break, but Kaya ultimately held on to claim all three points and move top of the table, although second-placed Global have a game in hand.

In Thursday's other game, Stallion Gilligan's wrapped up fourth spot with a 3-0 win over Philippine Army Fritz & Macziol.

Stallion got off to a terrific start when South Korean Lee Joo-young scored in the first minute with a stunning effort from the edge of the area, before his compatriot Yoon Byeong-jun put them two up six minutes later.

Ruben Doctora Jr then grabbed his side's third in the 22nd minute with a terrific strike that had Army keeper Eduardo Sacapano beaten all ends up, before Kaya spared their opponents an embarassing result by taking their foot off the pedal in the second 45.

On Friday, Loyola Meralco Sparks will look to keep alive their title hopes when they take on Nomads Auction Manila, while Global can reclaim the lead on Saturday if they manage to beat Philippine Air Force Phoenix.
