The manner of the wins could not have been more different though.
In the first kick-off the day, Pasargad looked to be coasting to a win against Philippines Air Force Phoenix after first-half strikes from Milad Behgadom and Jay Torres put them two goals to the good. But a quick-fire brace from Yanti Barsales 20 minutes into the second-half levelled the game.
It looked like Pasargad might have to settle for a point, until Mohammed Ohadi popped up six minutes from time to hand his side all three points with a 3-2 win and overtake Nomads Auction Manila, who lost to leaders Kaya on Saturday, in fifth.
Later at the University of Makati, Green Archers Globe took a shock early lead over Stallion Gilligan's, Christian Floriano Pasilan Jr. finding the back of the net in the 16th minute for Rodolfo Alicante's side.
But the newly promoted club that currently occupies fourth spot in the table hit back in stunning fashion as Reuben Doctora Jr. restored parity four minutes later before giving his side the lead five minutes from half-time.
Stallion continued to go for the kill after the break and were duly rewarded with Jovanie Simpron getting on the scoresheet on the hour mark before Jomar Lestingio turned a comprehensive win into a 4-1 rout by rounding off the scoring in the 85th minute.
Kaya recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over Nomads Auction Manila on Saturday to move top of the Philippines' United Football League.
Alu Kigbu opened the scoring for Kaya in the 40th minute, before his fierce shot early on in the second half was parried into the path of Joshua Beloya, who doubled his side's advantage.
David Denison pulled one back for the Nomads when he converted a penalty that he had earned, but Kaya held on to grab all three points.
The win also sees them move top of the table, a point ahead of Global who are not in action this weekend.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Army Fritz & Macziol survived a fightback by Navy Red Juice to record a 3-2 win over their rivals.
Goals from Romano Vestal and Nestorio Margarse Jr gave Army a 2-0 lead at halftime, which they extended seven minutes after the break through a Meliton Pelayo piledriver.
However, Arnold Carino pulled one back for Navy a minute after the hour mark, before Peter John Fadrigalan grabbed another 11 minutes later.
Nonetheless, the Navymen were unable to find an equaliser and Army held on for the win which sees them pull level with 7th-placed Air Force Phoenix, although they remain behind on goal difference.
