Indian champions Salgaocar have been inconsistent all season long and are currently fourth in the I-League, four points behind leaders Dempo.
On the continental front, they have picked up just one point from their opening two Group D games and coach Karim Bencherifa is aware that if his charges are to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout round alive, they must record a victory at Al Wehdat on Wednesday.
"I was satisfied with the training session on Monday and I am hopeful that our players will continue with the same momentum in the match," Bencherifa said on the AFC's official website.
"It will be a challenge to play a strong team like Al Wehdat and especially in a stadium full of passionate fans. However, I am optimistic that my players will overcome all obstacles.
"What I would like to promise the Salgaocar fans and the Indian football fans is that we will put on a good show and hopefully we will pick up some points."
Elsewhere in Group D, Uzbek outfit Neftchi Farg'ona will be looking to tighten their grip on top spot when they entertain Oman's Al Oruba.
India's other representative in the competition, East Bengal, have had an even worse run after picking up zero points from their opening two games.
They face Arbil, who are looking for their first win, on Wednesday and coach Trevor Morgan is hoping his players have learnt lessons from their opening two games.
"We have learnt from our mistakes from the previous matches and we are confident we can improve enough to be able to win three points," Morgan said.
"To achieve this, the defence needs to play better and I am confident they will put on a better show."
while Yemen's Al Oruba and Kuwaiti outfit Kazma do battle in the group's other game.
In Group F, Tampines Rovers entertain Terengganu at the Jalan Besar Stadium knowing anything less than three points will end their chances of qualifying for the next round.
"If we want to qualify for the next round, nothing less than three points [against Terengganu] will be acceptable," Tampines coach Steven Tan declared.
"I don't think we'll make it [to the next round] if we get anything less than that."
Group leaders Kitchee will be looking to maintain their perfect start when they entertain Vietnam's Song Lam Nghe An at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground.
Finally in Group H, Navibank Saigon and Ayeyawady United do battle in a shock top-of-the-table clash.
Both sides were expected to play second fiddle to Malaysia Super League champions Kelantan and Indonesian giants Arema, but have so far picked up four points a possible six.
Victory for either side would see claim an outright lead in the group, while Kelantan and Arema face off in a bid to keep alive their qualification prospects.
