India to leave for AFC prep camp

The 30-member Indian football team leaves on Wednesday for a preparatory camp in Dubai for the forthcoming AFC Challenge Cup.

The camp starts from February 15, 2012.

National Coach Savio Medeira lauded AIFF for getting the tour arranged and said: “Its always important to prepare yourself and the team before such a big tournament. Specially going to Dubai where there would be good infrastructure and facility. Hope the camp would be very helpful in our preparation.”

He also expressed confidence in the players selected for the camp.

“The squad selected for the camp is very talented, hope they all would perform to their potential.

The National team is slated to play International Friendly against:

1.    India vs Oman in Muscat on February 23, 2012.

2.    India vs Azerbaijan in Dubai on February 27, 2012.

Following is the list of 30 Players and the eight Officials who would be travelling for the Camp:

Goalkeepers: Karanjit Singh, Subhasish Roychowdhury, Arindam Bhattacharya, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

Defenders: Nirmal Chhetri, Raju Gaikwad, Sameer Naik, Gourmangi Singh, Anwar Ali, Kinsukh Debnath, Syed Rahim Nabi, Arnab Mondal, Gurjinder Singh.

Midfielders: Adil Khan, Anthony Pereira, Clifford Miranda, Reisangmi Vashum, Baldeep Singh, Lester Fernandes, Rocus Lamare, Francis Fernandes, Jewel Raja, Manish Mathani, Lenny Rodrigues, Lalrindika Ralte.

Forwards: Sunil Chhetri, Sushil Singh, CS Sabeeth, Manandeep Singh, Joaquim Abranches.
