T-Team aiming for three on the trot

High-flying T-Team will be looking to make it three successive wins in the Malaysia Super League when they entertain Sabah on Tuesday evening.

The Terengganu-based outfit have started the 2012 season in impressive fashion, recording back-to-back 3-0 wins in their first two matches against Kedah and Kuala Lumpur.

However, they will have to be wary of visitors Sabah, who recorded a 2-1 win over Sarawak last Saturday thanks to goals from new signing Michael Baird and returning hero Bobby Gonzales.

Defending champions Kelantan will be looking to keep up their unbeaten start to the season when they host Johor FC at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium, while Terengganu, who finished as runners-up last season, travel to play Sarawak.

Selangor will be looking to follow up their 1-0 win over Perak when they take on Felda United on Tuesday, a game which Red Giants midfielder K. Gurusamy could once again prove integral, having received praise from coach Irfan Bakti for his hardworking display in their last match.

"You don't see Claude Makelele or Michael Essien making the headlines, but they are the players who do the hard work for the team," Irfan told The Star. "Gurusamy is our player in that mould.

"You don't see flashy moves from Gurusamy but he is the one who works the hardest in midfield. He shields our defence and breaks attacks. For me, he was the man of the match [against Perak]."

Super League new boys LIONSXII have an excellent chance to record their first win of the campaign when they entertain basement side Kuala Lumpur at the Jalan Besar Stadium. However, coach V. Sundramoorthy may have to do without striker Agu Casmir, who picked up a hamstring injury against Kedah on Saturday.

Nonetheless, the Singapore representative side are believed to be ready to put their faith in young forward Khairul Nizam, and also look set to be bolstered by the return of talented centre-back Safuwan Baharudin, who missed Saturday's game through injury.

PKNS FC will also be looking to record their first win of the season when they take on Kedah, having picked up one point from their opening two matches, while Perak entertain Negri Sembilan.
