LIONSXII suffer Shaiful injury setback

A week ahead of their opening Malaysia Super League game. Singapore side LIONSXII have been dealt a blow with news that Shaiful Esah has been ruled out for a month.

The talented left-back suffered a fractured fibula in his left leg in training before the Christmas Eve friendly against Johor FA, but the extent of the injury only became clear after the 25-year-old went for an x-ray on Tuesday.

Shaiful will miss Wednesday night's friendly against Johor FC and could now miss as many as five Super League matches.

LIONSXII start their Super League campaign at home to reigning champions Kelantan on January 10.
