The ASEAN nation was also handed a US$28,000 fine by football's governing body.

The ban comes after trouble flared in the Myanmar capital of Yangon during a second round qualifying game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

With Myanmar trailing 2-0 on the day and 4-0 on aggregate, Myanmar fans threw rocks and bottles at Japanese referee Ryuji Sato, visiting coach Paul Le Guen and the Oman players, following a hotly disputed penalty which was converted by Ismail al Ajmi.

Referee Sato abandoned the game shortly before half-time and FIFA duly awarded Oman a 2-0 win.

In a statement, FIFA's Disciplinary Committee ruled that the Myanmar Football Federation breached the Disciplinary Code in terms of the conduct of their supporters.
