UK tour to benefit India Under-23s

AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das has expressed confidence that the forthcoming UK Tour will give much-needed exposure for the Indian Under-23 team.

Das was pleased at the amount of interest that the tour was generating amongst football fans in India, saying: "The All India Football Federation is happy the boys are getting the right kind of exposure".

"The Clash of the Titans India Pakistan UK Tour has generated huge interest among the fans in India and we are eagerly looking forward to the Tour," he added.

The Indian Under-23 football team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the tour in England on September 3, according to the AIFF.

"The All India Football Federation is pleased to confirm the participation of India's Under-23 squad for the Clash of the Titans India Pakistan UK Tour," an AIFF release revealed.

"The Indian team will be playing three matches in England the details of which are as follows: India versus Pakistan on September 3, 2011 at Derby County's Pride Park, India versus England Under-23 on September 6, 2011 at Victoria Road, Dagenham, East London and India versus Pakistan on September 9, 2011 in Glasgow."

The Under-23 Indian squad are presently training in a preparatory camp for the tour under Coach Sukhwinder Singh.
