Bennett nears a Singapore century

Singapore defender Daniel Bennett is set to win his 100th cap for the country in next week's friendly with Thailand.

The Singapore Armed Forces star has become a permanent feature for the Lions since making his international debut in 2002.

Bennett, who has also played for Welsh side Wrexham, featured in Singapore's recent World Cup qualifying success against arch rivals Malaysia - results which saw head coach Radojko Avramovic's men reach the third round of qualifying en route to the finals in Brazil in 2014.

Should Bennett feature in the August 24 friendly in Bangkok, it would represent yet another major landmark in the 33-year-old's career.

Internationally, Bennett has already helped Singapore win the 2004 Tiger Cup and the 2007 ASEAN Football Championship, whilst domestically he has played a major role in steering Singapore Armed Forces to four S.League titles and two Singapore League Cup successes.
