Strong Korean squad for Japan friendly

Korea Republic coach Cho Kwang-rae has named a strong squad for the friendly against Japan in Sapporo, with fifteen overseas-based players included in the squad of 24.

For both teams, who last met in the semi-final of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, the August 10 game is the last warm-up before they start qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in January.

New Sunderland striker Ji Dong-won has been summoned, as has fellow English Premier League player Lee Chung-yong of Bolton Wanderers.

Bundesliga-based Koo Ja-cheol of VfL Wolfsburg and SV Hamburg's Son Heung-min will also make the trip east, while AS Monaco striker Park Chu-young, who missed January's tournament through injury, will appear.
