Neill, who was without a club after leaving A-League giants Sydney FC, was said to be on the hunt of regular first-team football as he looks to secure his place in the Socceroos side for next summer's FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
And it now appears he will be doing just that in Japan after it was confirmed that he had signed for Omiya.
"I'm very excited that I was able to join Omiya Ardija," the 35-year-old said, according to the Football Federation Australia's official website.
"I hope I can become Ardija's strength with my passionate playing style and strong will to win.
"I want to use my experience to help my team-mates achieve the club's goals."
Neill arrives at the NACK5 Stadium Omiya with a wealth of experience having 17 seasons in England with Millwall, Blackburn, West Ham and Everton.
