In Tuesday's 2-0 win over Jordan, Honda scored his third goal in three games to help Japan finish top of Group D and will now face the United Arab Emirates in the quarter-final on Friday.
Honda told media that he feels it's unfair that Japan have a day less to prepare for Friday’s game than the UAE, who last played on January 19 against Iran.
"Two days is too short a recovery time," said Honda, who has already been fined for complaining about the standard of refereeing.
"I don't agree with such a tough schedule. It's too much and it's a concern."
The AC Milan player is wary of UAE and admits that they are playing very well.
"UAE are playing very well," said Honda.
"I don't think they will fear Japan at all. Hopefully we can continue creating as many chances as we have been," he added.
