Mazzarri declines Japan job

Mazzarri was sacked by Inter after a series of disappointing results on 14 November 2014, leaving the club in ninth place.

The 53-year-old follows former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli and ex-AC Milan boss Leonardo in turning down the opportunity to replace Javier Aguirre in the Japan hot seat.

According to Tuttosport, Mazzarri turned down the offer after having talks with both Fiorentina and Roma over a coaching position.

Mazzarri, who guided Napoli to the Coppa Italia in 2012, is still officially under contract at Inter until June 2016 on a €3.5 million per-year-deal.
