Cambodia have fallen short in their bid to qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup following a 1-0 loss to Jordan on Tuesday.
Munther Abu Amarah scored the only goal of the game at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh in the 17th minute, sealing for Jordan a top-two finish in Group C and their ticket to United Arab Emirates 2019 in the process.
Another brave display by Cambodia against Jordan
And, later in the evening, Vietnam joined the Jordanians as a 0-0 draw with Afghanistan at the My Dinh National Stadium was enough to see them claim an unassailable six-point lead over Cambodia with just one qualifier remaining.
🇻🇳 Vietnam team to face Afghanistan.
A very attacking 4-2-3-1.

For Vietnam, qualifying for Asian football’s premier tournament is further justification that they are on the right track following their recent resurgence.
Meanwhile, the Cambodians can still be proud of the fight they displayed over the course of the campaign, and will now be looking to finish on a high by beating Afghanistan in their final match next March.
