Chelsea prospect Izzy Brown will continue his development at Brighton next season after signing a new long-term contract with the champions of England.
The 20-year-old forward joined the Blues from West Brom in 2013 after being named Academy Player of the Season at the Hawthorns, and eventually made his first-team debut against the Baggies in May 2015.
Much of his time has been spent out on loan, with spells at Vitesse, Rotherham and most recently Huddersfield, whom Brown helped gain promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs last term.
The west London giants see the England youth international as one for the future, having tied him down to a new deal until 2021 on Tuesday, but the youngster has linked up with top-flight newcomers Albion for the 2017/18 campaign to gain valuable experience and game time.
Chelsea confirmed the news in a statement which read: "Izzy Brown has today signed a new contract until 2021 and joined Premier League newcomers Brighton and Hove Albion on loan until the end of the season."
Commenting on his newest acquisition, Seagulls boss Chris Hughton told the club's official website: "The natural progression for Izzy, having enjoyed such a successful season in the Championship last season, was to step up to the Premier League – and we are delighted he will be doing that with us, here at Brighton,"
"He is a player with great potential and will bring a different dimension to our attacking options for the season ahead, alongside our existing strikers."
