New West Ham contract for Adrian

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has announced that goalkeeper Adrian has signed a new contract.

The 30-year-old’s current deal was due to expire at end of the season, but the club have now been able to tie him down for a further two years.

The Spaniard has been the United first choice goalkeeper since joining the club in 2013 from Real Betis, and has gone on to make 105 Premier League appearances.

“With Adrian, we had an option to extend his contract which we have done,” manager Bilic was quoted by FourFourTwo ahead of Sunday afternoon’s visit to Burnley on the final day of the season.

“He is our player and we’re very happy,” said Bilic.

Despite the good news regarding Adrian, Bilic added that they will be without vice captain Winston Reid, who is out for 10 weeks following an operation.

“He is good. He has an operation and will be out for 10 weeks, so he’ll be ready for the start of next season,” Bilic said about the New Zealand international.
