Having lost some of their best players, Tampines Rovers have announced some good news after they re-signed experienced Singapore forward Khairul Amri.
The 31-year-old, who has won over 100 caps for his country and played in the recent AFF Suzuki Cup, joins the Stags after they lost star attacking trio Jermaine Pennant, Billy Mehmet and Jordan Webb.
Amri, who has signed a two-year contract, will be enjoying his third stint at the S.League club, having previously played for them in the 2008-09 season and again in 2013.
Hougang United had been tipped to sign the frontman, but Tampines swooped after Amri’s spell at the Garena Young Lions came to an end.
Amri’s first major action in a Tampines shirt will come when they face Global FC of the Philippines in the AFC Champions League first qualifying round on January 24.
