Sunderland midfielder Adnan Januzaj is confident that his side can upset title-contenders Liverpool in their Premier League encounter on Monday.
The Black Cats currently languish in 18th position in the EPL table, having won just one of their five last league encounters, but the Manchester United loanee is adamant they can upset Jurgen Klopp's men, despite being on the end of a 4-1 thrashing in their most recent outing against Burnley.
"Obviously everyone is down after a bad defeat and a bad performance," he told reporters.
"But this is football, you can lose today and win tomorrow, anything can happen.
"We now have to try to look at the games we played well in before and make it difficult for Liverpool.
"We know that we can still win the game if we play to our best in front of our own fans.
"We will not give Liverpool an easy game – we know what is required."
The 21-year-old also highlighted his side's home ground advantage, in addition to stressing that they cannot afford to show defensive fratalities against the league's highest scoring side.
"We will be playing at home, we have great fans so we will be looking to play for them and to surprise Liverpool," he added.
"We can’t make the mistakes we have against Liverpool and the likes of the bigger sides or we could be five or six down before half-time."
