Steven Gerrard admits that the potential of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is “scary” as a Liverpool fan.
Pobga scored a late second-half strike immediately after Anthony Martial’s equaliser to hand the Red Devils all three points against Middlesbrough in a 2-1 victory.
Following a shaky start to the season in which he came under criticism, Pogba is now showing the type of form that saw him become the world’s most expensive player.
“I think he’s got better and stronger week by week. He’s obviously a phenomenal talent,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“I think coming in with that big price tag early on has weighed him down a bit and Manchester United weren’t in their rhythm.
Amazing way to end the year, great 2017 everyone ?

“I think Michael Carrick compliments him so well.”
Gerrard thinks the France international will continue to get better now he has settled back into life at Old Trafford.
“Now we’re seeing the Paul Pogba we all expected to see,” he added.
“He’s only going to get better and better. He’s young, he’s leggy, he’s got all the tools in the bag.
“There’s no doubt about it, he’s one of the best midfielder’s in the world now and he’s going to get better which is a scary thought being a Liverpool fan.”
