VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Josuha Guilavogui says playmaker Julian Draxler spoke of his desire to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain months ago.
Die Wolfe confirmed last week the Germany international would join the French league Champions for a €42 million fee at the turn of the year, and Guilavogui claims the 23-year-old had previously spoken of his desire to play in the French capital.
“At Wolfsburg, our relationship was bigger than just football, it was not only based on the pitch,” he told Le Parisien. “Since this summer, he had made the decision to leave, I am happy for him.
“To join PSG, it is something that is close to his heart. He dreamt of Paris, of PSG… Ligue 1 interests him. In the middle of October, he came to mine to watch PSG vs Marseille. He knows the players. For him, it is enormous to join PSG…
“French? He knows it roughly because he learnt it school. How good is he? He could not do an interview, but he understands a lot of words. Even some very complicated ones, it is surprising…
“I think that he will bring them his creativity. Whether in training or in the big matches, I have seen him achieve impressive things.”
