FC Twente striker Yaw Yeboah is optimistic that his performances in the Eredivisie will help him to be selected for the Ghanaian AFCON squad.
The 19-year-old has been an ever-present figure for Rene Hake's side this season – netting two goals in 17 appearances in all competitions, which prompted national team coach Avram Grant to select him in an AFCON qualifier against Rwanda and an international friendly against Russia.
Yeboah, who is contracted to Manchester City, had a season-long loan spell with French outfit Lille during the 2015/16 campaign which garnered little success – having only featured three times all season.
The teenager is, however, confident he can crack the nod for the national team following his latest exploits in the Netherlands.
"Yes I just hope I will get a call-up for the tournament, I believe I have been working hard at my club," he told GHone TV.
"I had a good season with my club and I am here for holidays, I will be happy if I get an invite, it has always been my dream to play for my National team," he said.
