Diego Simeone says luck has eluded Atletico Madrid following a difficult week for the club that culminated in a 3-0 loss at the hands of Villarreal.
The club suffered the loss of Filipe Luis to a thigh injury on Wednesday, while Tiago was withdrawn from Monday night's clash after just 30 minutes after a knock to his right knee.
Jan Oblak then dislocated his shoulder in the 40th minute before being withdrawn.
After the match, Simeone told the club's website that both sides had plenty of chances to score, but they didn't take theirs.
He said: "I think that in the first half we had four chances, Griezmann’s, the hit to the post, Gamerio’s and Correa’s; and Villarreal, obviously, took advantage of the chances it had to score, it made them be more comfortable in the match."
He added: "I go away with the feeling that the team fights, works…that the team is trying its best to find the best situations to win and in the last games, especially when trying to score, we’re not having luck and that makes us lose.
"We have to work because it’s the only way to improve."
While Tiago's injury isn't expected to be too serious, Oblak was taken to hospital.
A brief statement read: "Tiago had to be substituted in the 30th minute of the match with discomfort in his right knee."
It continued: "Jan Oblak suffers a dislocated left shoulder. The Slovenian has been transferred to a hospital to undergo a radiological study. The red and white goalkeeper had to be replaced by Miguel Angel Moya in the 40th minute of the match."
