Round-up: A day of draws in the Bundesliga

There were points all round as four of the five Saturday afternoon fixtures in the Bundesliga ended in draws.

The best action could be found at the Volksparkstadion where Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen played out to an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The hosts got off to the best possible start when Michael Gregoritsch gave them the lead just three minutes into the match. However, Bremen responded well and were back on level terms through Fin Barels 11 minutes later.

Hamburg continued to pressure were back in front in the 28th minute when Gregoritsch completed his brace to restore the home side’s advantage.

But the visitors were not to be denied and once again drew level, this time through Serge Gnabry on the stroke of half time to ensure the points would be shared.

Elsewhere, 1. FC Köln played out to an action-packed 0-0 draw with FC Augsburg at RheinEnergieStadion.

Despite what the scoreline might suggest, there were plenty of opportunities for both sides, but neither were able to break the deadlock.

An evenly-contested match between VfL Borussia Monchengladbach and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim at Borussia Park ended 1-1 as Mahmoud Dahoud (25′) and Nadiem Amiri (53′) traded blows.

Meanwhile, FC Ingolstadt and VfL Wolfsburg also shared the spoils as they drew 1-1 at Audi Sportpark.

Anthony Jung gave the home side the lead in the 31st minute before Daniel Caligiuri leveled matters in the 78th minute, but the Ingolstadt will feel slightly aggrieved not to have secure the three points after Moritz Hartmann missed a penalty in the 18th minute.
