Jong to sign with Shimizu S-Pulse

Jong, who holds a North Korean passport despite being born in Japan, played his last home game for Suwon on Wednesday, in which they beat the Jeonnam Dragons 1-0.

Even though the 31-year-old has represented the K-League club 64 times and scored 19 goals, he has been heavily criticised for his love and support of North Korea by some of those in the south. Jong is also well remembered for shedding tears while North Korea's national anthem was playing before their 2010 World Cup match against Brazil.

Prior to joining Suwon, Jong plied his trade with Japan's Kawasaki Frontale and Germany's VfL Bochum and FC Koln.
