Italian defender Gabriele Angella has returned to his homeland after leaving Premier League side Watford to re-sign for Udinese.
The 27-year-old played a key role for the Hornets during the 2014/15 campaign as they won promotion to the top tier of English football, making 35 appearances in the Championship and scoring two goals.
But Angella was shipped out on loan to Queens Park Rangers last season after finding himself out of favour with new manager Quique Flores and is not in his successor's plans, with Walter Mazzarri having since taken over the reins at Vicarage Road.
The former Italy Under-21 international has subsequently rejoined the Zebrette, where he played for three years before making the move to England in 2013.
"Gabriele Angella has today completed a permanent transfer to Udinese," read a statement from the Hertfordshire outfit.
"The 27-year-old defender leaves Watford having made 82 appearances for the Hornets, scoring 10 goals. Everyone at Vicarage Road wishes Gabriele success for his future career."
